He spent three years working as a postgraduate resident in the neurosurgery department at the NRI Medical College and Hospital in Guntur, served as senior resident at St. John's Medical College, and spent three years working as a postgraduate and tutor at the Alameen Institute of Medical Sciences in Bijapur.
